IPC – INNOVATIVE POLYMER COMPOUNDS is a specialist compounder of Medical Grade Engineering Polymers based in Kilbeggan, County Westmeath close to its Irish customer base of Medical Device manufacturers.
Its modern manufacturing facilities allow for industry leading delivery times as well as flexible small lot batches. Set up in 2008 and certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, IPC processes polymers from Arkema, Lubrizol, BASF, EMS, DuPont, Evonik, Solvay among others.
The company performs its own colour matching using a base range of FDA and USP class VI approved pigments which achieve tighter and more consistent colour tolerances as well as short lead times for coloured compounds to Pantone, Munsell or RAL references.
IPC – When Material Excellence Matters.
IPC’s value proposition to your business is the excellence which we impart into everything we do in producing class-leading medical polymer compounds. First class raw materials, quality systems management, change control, strategic purchasing, rapid regulatory response, small lot R&D support, material development, colour matching, special packaging options, and exemplary customer service, are the hallmark of our company. All of the 1,800 or so custom compounds produced to date, for customers in 23 countries have been manufactured, tested and packed in our ISO 9000 / ISO 13485 certified state of the art facility. Our materials are used exclusively in medical device applications.
Our Applications:
IPC compounded materials are used in a wide range of custom applications including:
Extrusion.
Catheter Tubing – Balloon catheters.
Medical cast and blown film.
Bioabsorbable sutures, fibres and mouldings.
Injection moulded housings.
IPC has, and continues to develop a range of compounds solutions offering improved patient outcomes, based on customer and industry feedback since 2008.
Our Products:
Our PebaSlide – low coefficient of friction grades cover a shore hardness range from 25 to 75 Shore D, and offer a substantial improvement over standard Pebax polyether block amide materials in catheter applications, removing the need for lubricious coatings and additional process steps.
SpectrAM is a novel, light-activated antimicrobial system offering solutions in a wide range of medical film, wound dressing, moulded housings and fibre applications.
IPC’s soon to be launched 3 D Filament Advanced range, in 1.75mm O.D. reel format - will greatly speed up and enhance product development, allowing design engineers work from the very outset of a project with a range of custom compounds with mechanical and process parameters much closer to their final device requirements, in custom colours.
Our Materials:
In over 1,800 custom compounds, IPC has developed comprehensive technical and process experience, in a wide range of custom medical grade polymers and additives for medical device applications:
LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, ABS, PCABS, PC, PA11, PA12, TPE, TPU, PLA, PLA-PHA, PLA-TCP, PPSU, PEEK.
Quantities produced from 5kg to 5,000kg.
Our Support:
IPC Q1/3 Programme aims to provide customers with 3 versions of a development compound within a calendar quarter, offering options such as a change of colour, mechanical properties, and formulation changes as trials on the new device progress.
Our Technical Compass is a service from our website allowing IPC to offer customers material and process recommendations tailored to their device at the beginning of the design process.
IPC offers vacuum packaging solutions tailored to match material usage in your process, which offers substantial savings in reduced material loss due to moisture ingress, and material problems due to multiple drying cycles of hygroscopic grades.
