Silicone manufacturer, Bluestar Silicones is promoting its expanded Silbione Biomedical product line for long term implant applications as well as its primerless skin adhesives at MD&M West this year.
New Product
The company’s Silbione Biomedical long term implant silicones offer outstanding lot-to-lot consistency optimising product design in an easy-to-process formulation, improving cycle time and part quality, Bluestar Silicones claim.
The materials are now available for drug delivery applications, with Drug Master File access available via the FDA with authorisation from Bluestar Silicones.
The company has also announced the launch of a new self-bonding soft skin adhesive for wound, scar, transdermal and wearable device applications. The company’s Silbione RT Gel 4645 offers high bond strength to achieve adhesion.
Bluestar Silicones states that the new solution broadens the range of applications to include thermally sensitive substrates and enable improvements in productivity and efficiencies for coaters, resulting in decreased overall costs.
