Cast Aluminum Solutions (CAS) has launched the CAST-X 4000 Circulation Heater, a high-capacity, no contact, circulation heater used in plastics manufacturing processes
Cast Aluminum Solutions' CAST-X series
The CAST-X 4000 has dual 1-inch OD stainless steel, spiraled wound tubes, cast into an aluminum mass, which also contains the heating elements.
Delivering up to 60 kilowatts of power, the CAST-X 4000 supports liquid flow rates up to 36 gallons per minute.
The CAST-X 4000’s no-contact design keeps liquid coatings, adhesives, inks, etc. in a flow-path tube and allows them to be heated without touching the heating elements.
This design reduces contamination as fluids stay in the flow-path tube and do not contact other components in the heater.
The CAST-X 4000 was designed to be compatible with high-throughput processes, such high-line speed laminating, coating, drying and inking/dying applications.
For processes involving hazardous liquids, the CAST-X 4000 can be equipped with an explosion-resistant electrical housing.
Eric Hostert, director of engineering at CAS, said: “The CAST-X 4000 follows the proven design of our smaller CAST-X heaters, a no-contact, small-footprint design, highly-reliable and self-draining, requiring very little maintenance, but with the capacity to satisfy today’s large-volume coating manufacturers and end-users.”
