In light of Covid-19, Smithers Thermoplastic and Silicone Elastomers US Summits will now take place in a virtual format.
The summits will occur once a week for three consecutive weeks on the following dates:
- Wednesday 24th June
- Wednesday 1st July
- Wednesday 8th July.
The event was originally scheduled for June 2020 in Cleveland, Ohio.
As a result of the change in format, a new pricing structure has been confirmed, with more information on the event website.
The reasons for the format change are to ensure the safety and comfort of customers, partners, and staff. Therefore, innovative topics will be presented to experts from throughout the supply chain, without attendees having to leave the safety of their homes.
What can attendees expect?
In the opening session of the Virtual Elastomers Summit -‘Creating Elastomeric Parts with 3D & 4D Printing’, attendees will learn how 3D and 4D printing technologies are creating breakthroughs and advantages in the elastomer industry. Industry leaders will discuss printing materials and technologies, printing applications, and the future of 4D printing.
Sarah Burke, technical specialist at Wacker, is also discussing complex engineering opportunities made possible with Wacker’s ACEO brand - the first industrial 3D print process for silicones that uses true LSR without any plasticisers.
During session two of the Virtual Elastomers Summit, attendees will hear innovative dialogue and technical perspectives regarding LSRs and how LSRs are shaping the future silicone elastomers market, and in the final session on ‘Trends in Thermoplastic-based Materials’, attendees will gain a comprehensive overview of new developments and progress being made across the thermoplastic supply chain.
