Developed by Ronald Downs, board-certified plastic surgeon, the hand-held device uses LEDs to diminish the appearance of red stretch marks, according to the Strailite company.
Stretch marks are defects in the skin caused by damaged collagen that occurs from rapid skin stretching.
The Strailite device combines the medical benefits of topical warming with skin penetrating, light emitting diodes (LEDs) to stimulate the cell's mitochondria to produce more collagen.
At the same time, the Strialite heating elements help to increase circulation, which allows vital collagen building blocks to travel to the stretch mark region and begin the pain free, effective, healing process, according to the company.
Downs said: "Patients have been asking me how to get rid of their stretch marks for my entire career. But when my own 18-year-old daughter was upset about the stretch marks she'd developed from puberty, it really hit home.

Users apply Strialite to the desired area for 20 uninterrupted minutes, two times a week and the treatment can be applied on the abdomen, hips, thighs – anywhere stretch marks have developed, according to the company.
