General Silicones, which has 50 years of experience in silicone rubber trading and manufacturing, has invested in new equipment to meet the surge in orders, largely from the US and Europe.
A key supplier of a wide range of silicone products across numerous industries, including medical, automobile, consumer products, electronics and IT, General Silicones is facing a dramatic increase in demand for critical silicone parts needed for respiratory assistance equipment, research and work safety, amongst other areas.President and CEO Michael Lin said: "Obviously, we want to do what we can to help, both from the point of view of a business and also to assist doctors and patients all over the world. We've invested in new manufacturing equipment so we can deliver vital supplies where they are most needed even more quickly."
The new manufacturing equipment includes liquid silicone rubber injection moulding machines. This equipment is helping the company ramp up production and accelerate delivery throughout its global manufacturing and distribution network.
It is also seeing very high demand for customised silicone medical parts such as scalpel mats, pin mats, tubing, breathing masks and bags, medical membrane keypads, medical mouse pads, electric knife parts, magnetic (instrument) mat, nebuliser plugs, bacterial Petri plates, and other medical parts and O-rings.
Despite the increase in medical demand, the company wishes to assure all its customers in other industries that GS remains ready to meet their orders for silicone products and raw materials as efficiently as always.
