The Walking Assist device is an assistive device for use in walking therapy
Honda's Walking Assist device
The Walking Assist device helps users walk more efficiently based on the inverted pendulum model - a theory of bipedal walking. It is designed to be used in walking therapy under the guidance of a doctor.
Honda used walking research from ASIMO its advanced humanoid robot.
The Walking Assist device has a measuring function which visualises walking patterns and training status of each user on a tablet–like information device.
The device also has multiple training modes and has already been in use across approximately 50 hospitals and other facilities in Japan which has enabled Honda to optimise its functions.
