For many years, the Messe Düsseldorf Group has been organising events for the healthcare business in fast-growing continental and regional markets under the umbrella brand MEDICAlliance in addition to the international medical trade fair MEDICA at the Düsseldorf location. Medical Fair India, for example, can look back on a tradition of more than 30 years, is now held every year alternately in New Delhi and Mumbai and marks the start of the 2023 trade fair year of the MEDICAlliance trade fair portfolio.
The 28th edition of Medical Fair India is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors from various healthcare fields from 27-29th April 2023 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
During the three-day trade fair and communication platform, a wealth of innovations will be presented by the more than 400 companies on about 16,000 square metres: from medical technology, medical consumables, surgical instruments, laboratory equipment, hospital furniture, components for medical products or even services for outpatient and inpatient care units. In addition to India and Germany, the diversity of exhibitor nations is represented by Italy, Austria, China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Canada, USA, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and Hungary.
The Indian healthcare industry has developed into one of the country's strongest sectors in terms of turnover and employment and is growing rapidly. By 2025, three million new hospital beds (treatment units) are to be created and around $200 billion invested in the country's hospital infrastructure.
Medical Fair India is organised by Messe Düsseldorf India with the support of Association of Healthcare Providers India (AHPI), Association of Indian Manufacturers of Medical Devices (AIMED), Association of Diagnostic Manufacturers of India (ADMI), Quality and Accreditation Institute (QAI) and Voice of Healthcare (VOH), GMAAF - Global Medtech Advocacy & Advisory Forum, NASSCOM Center of Excellence - IoT & AI and Healthcare Events as Knowledge Partner for Clin Lab Conference.

Medical Fair India as "engine of growth"
After the years of the Corona pandemic, the desire for face-to-face meetings and live presentations of innovations is great and Medical Fair India is highly appreciated as the event for the Indian subcontinent by the key players in the healthcare industry such as Rajiv Nath, managing director at Hindustan Syringes & Medical Devices, forum coordinator at AiMeD (Association of Indian Medical Devices Industry) and chairman of the Advisory Committee of Medical Fair India explains on behalf of the industry: "I appreciate the commitment of the Messe Düsseldorf team, which has raised the quality of the event and its programme over the years. This was entirely in the spirit of the Indian medical and health industry and its further development. During the Covid pandemic, we demonstrated the skills and know-how of Indian companies. Trade fairs such as Medical Fair India play an important role in promoting collaboration and innovation within the industry. In the bigger and better 2023 edition, the 'Make in India' pavilion at the fair will showcase some of the Indian innovations that will help shape the future of healthcare."
With regard to the importance of the trade fair event, Thomas Schlitt, managing director of Messe Düsseldorf India, adds: "India's health economy is central to achieving the nation's goal of building a $5 trillion economy. Medical Fair India 2023 will act as a mega stage for the Indian healthcare industry to innovate and enhance collaboration within the industry."
