Piovan is celebrating 50 years in the world of plastics. This, along with its 50,000 global customer base are important milestones it says, in the creation of building blocks for pursuing new goals.
Founded in 1934 as a metalworking shop in Padua, the company is today celebrating its golden anniversary as a key player in auxiliary machinery for the plastics industry. It success, it says, is partly due to an entrepreneurial spirit. When its founder, Costante Piovan decided to move beyond producing moulds, focussing on customer orientation to deliver better quality, increased ideas and solutions, this principle has been at the heart of the company ever since.
Today Piovan is a multinational company with five production facilities – in Italy, Germany, Brazil, China and the United States - 21 subsidiaries, agents in more than 70 countries and 900 employees, of which 140 are customer assistance engineers.
Piovan provides the plastics industry with a range of products and services, including feeding, blending, drying and recycling systems. It also produces industrial chillers and temperature controllers and integrates its array of equipment with proprietary production monitoring and control software.
The company has vast knowledge in the main polymer processing techniques, sharing this knowledge with its customers, not only supplying auxiliary equipment, but also as a partner working alongside customers and sharing their challenges.
