1. You have recently introduced a new medical grade polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) resin, could you tell me more about it please?
VALOX HX325HP resin is an unreinforced polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), with added mould release for optimum processing. This resin is specially designed to deliver optimum performance in components with features requiring high precision injection moulding.
2. What can this be used for?
VALOX HX325HP can be used for components in medical devices such as insulin pens, auto-injectors, insulin pumps, continous glucose monitors etc. VALOX HX325HP has shown lower and predictable shrinkage compared to other PBT resins.
3. What are some of the advantages of this resin?
- Robust processing for predicatable high-precision components
- Excellent chemical resistance against environmental stress cracking, offering wider use conditions
- Compatible with wide range of sterilisation processes
- Pre-assessed for biocompatibility to standards such as ISO10993
- Offers broad colour gamut
