At next week’s Pharmapack in Paris, drug delivery group Raumedic will present new developments in injection, drug delivery and inhalation
Since new European legislation for the prevention of needle stick injuries came into force in May 2013, the group has been working on a new safety device for injection systems.
Named RauSafe, the device can be adapted to a variety of existing injection systems on the market, and “provides reliable protection whilst being simple and intuitive to use” according to the group.
After the injection the active safety device can be pushed forward like a telescope. As soon as the needle is completely enclosed, the user can hear and feel the system click into the end position.
Also on display will be a new dosing syringe with an integrated locking mechanism for the application of liquid drugs, which was developed in partnership with one of Raumedic’s customers.
The dosing is adjustable, permitting an individual and exact dosage. The dosing syringe is currently available in 0.5 ml, 0.75 ml, 1 ml, 5ml and 10ml versions.
