Tri-Tech 3D now offers the Origin Two, a new open material 3D printer from Stratasys that can accurately produce end-use parts with "exceptional repeatability".

Designed for high-precision applications, it achieves tight tolerances and an injection moulding-like surface finish. The system enables short production runs and on-demand manufacturing of parts that require superior quality and performance, like those found in medical device production.
The Origin Two is primarily designed for the low-volume manufacturing of small series end-use parts, customised production, on-demand spare part manufacturing and bridge production — offering a strong alternative to traditional injection moulding processes. As an open material system, it can support a wide range of high-performance materials including 3172 and MED412, a biocompatible medical-grade that can support applications such as orthotics guides and braces. Furthermore, material changeovers can be completed in under ten minutes, saving valuable production time.
The new system also offers real-time data monitoring and high-temperature printing. This can help manufacturers achieve repeatability without needing to recalibrate the build heads between prints. Furthermore, Origin Two can be combined with Origin Cure, a custom post-processing solution, to ensure precise, consistent curing. Manufacturers can also benefit from the tightest tolerances in 3D printing, with an XY and Z tolerance of up to +/-50 µm for validated applications and +/- 100 µm in general.
“Low-volume, high-precision manufacturing is a key strength of 3D printing technology, and Origin Two demonstrates how far these capabilities have come,” explained Silvana Arteaga Moreno, Stratasys 3D printing medical specialist at Tri-Tech 3D.
“The ability to get real-time data from the system is a game-changer,” added Moreno. “Manufacturers can gain insights into every aspect of their production, from workflow efficiency to the accuracy and perfection of each part. This visibility is crucial, it allows users to maximise printer production and uptime while achieving high-quality outputs.”
The Origin Two is equipped with a heated chamber, which constantly controls the processing temperature up to 60°C when using high-temperature and high-viscosity materials. This makes it an ideal choice for many UL- and FR/FST-certified workflows as well as digital light processing (DLP) material developers.
